BASIC MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
ORiENTATION:
Each family is required to attend a 1 hour orientation, and participate in a 3.5 hour work day training, prior to their child's start date.
Weekly commitments:
Families are required to work one full workday shift week equivalent to 3.5 hours per week. The workday can be done by a parent or another member of your family. The same adult may participate each week, or you may switch off.
Each working parent must have updated TB test, proof of measles, mumps, rubella & most recent flu shot, COVID-19 vaccine, and pass the 'Megan's Law' background check.
Monthly Commitments:
Meetings: A family member is required to attend each Family Meeting which usually takes place on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. Currently, meetings are in-person at the school.
Jobs: Every family must take on a specific job or duty at Village Nursery. These include serving on the Co-op Board or volunteering for one of the Standing Committee jobs (examples include toy cleaning, book repairs, yard maintenance).
Annual/Semi-annual Commitments:
Maintenance: Each family is required to participate in 4 hours per semester (8 hrs/year) to clean, fix, or enhance the school environment. Community maintenance days are organized each semester.
Fundraising: All families must participate in several fundraisers organized during the Fall and Spring Semesters. A minimum fundraising commitment is required that may be satisfied through the planned fundraisers or through donation.
The minimum fundraising requirement is $400.
